We are looking for a dedicated and experienced full-time Head of Finance to lead the finance function for the Cains group of companies.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the role will provide strategic and operational financial leadership, with responsibility for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, audit coordination, VAT reporting, and robust financial controls. The successful candidate will oversee client account management, ensure compliance with relevant Isle of Man regulatory requirements, act as the main point of contact for external stakeholders including auditors, bankers and insurance brokers, as well as taking responsibility for the firm’s accounting and practice management system and leading and developing the Accounts team.

This is a key role at the core of the business requiring hands-on leadership, sound judgement and decision making, a strong accounting background and the ability to thrive in a complex environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant qualification with a recognised professional accounting body and a minimum of 10-15 years’ PQE.
  • Proven senior finance leadership experience, ideally within a legal, professional services or TCSP environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong technical accounting and reporting skills.
  • Proven experience managing regulatory compliance, ideally including client account oversight.
  • A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including, but not limited to, Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams).
  • Prior experience of a SQL-based accounting system would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational capability, the ability to balance competing priorities while maintaining high standards of delivery.
