We were proud to donate a number of board games to the Family Library. The Family Library, located in Douglas, is an invaluable local resource. In addition to offering a standard library service, the Family Library offers a mobile library service, bibliotherapy and a home library service.
Mobile Library: The mobile library travels Island-wide bringing the library service to the rural community and those who are unable to travel to the Family Library.
Bibliotherapy: This is a friendly service offered to anyone who feels they would benefit from getting together and chatting about books, poems, photographs or artefacts supplied by the library. This service is intended to promote social interaction and prevent isolation and loneliness.
Home Library Service: Operated by the Mobile Library, the Home Library Service is available to anyone who finds it difficult to visit their nearest library and includes people of all ages, those who may be housebound, living in long term care, carers and those who are immobile for whatever reason.
Director, Scott Leonard-Morgan commented, “We are really proud to support this very important community charity.”
