Music lovers and supporters of local charity are invited to an exceptional fundraising event this summer, offering a rare chance to meet the Choral Scholars of the world‑famous Choir of King’s College, Cambridge. Proceeds from the evening will support Hospice Isle of Man.
Taking place on Friday 17 July at the wonderfully intimate King’s Court Theatre, King William’s College, the event promises to be an unforgettable experience. Guests will enjoy a special pre‑concert reception with bubbly and canapés served in the Barrovian Hall, where they will also have an opportunity to meet with the Scholars and buy raffle tickets for three luxurious charity hampers.
The event is being proudly sponsored by Cains and King William’s College.
Tristan Head, Chair of Cains, said:
“Cains is delighted to support this very special evening with the King’s Men. I had the privilege of singing in the Choir of King’s College, Cambridge, both as a chorister and later as a choral scholar, and I was fortunate to bring a similar group of singers to the Island to perform at the Gaiety Theatre and Peel Cathedral in 1995. Both concerts were sold out and proved to be hugely successful, with audiences clearly enjoying the experience.
Tom Pickard, son of the much‑loved Alan Pickard who founded the Isle of Man Choral Society among many other notable musical achievements, is a member of the touring group. I understand that the concert programme will include an arrangement of a Manx folk-song composed by Tom especially for the event.
We very much look forward to welcoming the King’s Men back to the Isle of Man for what I am sure will be a series of fantastically enjoyable concerts, while raising vital funds for Hospice Isle of Man.”
Susan Gibson, Donor Engagement Executive of Hospice Isle of Man, added:
“We are very grateful to Cains and King William’s College for making this opportunity possible. Hospice Isle of Man relies on the generosity of our community, and an event of this calibre not only raises essential funds but also brings people together in celebration of music and compassion.”
Peter Clucas, Chair of Governors, King William’s College commented:
“It is a privilege to host the King’s Men at King William’s College and to provide the setting for such a unique event. Supporting Hospice Isle of Man aligns strongly with our values, and we are delighted to open our doors to the wider community for what promises to be an extraordinary evening.”
The group will also perform a concert at Peel Cathedral on Saturday 18 July as part of the Cathedral’s 2026 concert series, giving islanders another opportunity to see them perform.
Tickets are expected to be in high demand for this rare and intimate event, combining world‑class music, exclusive access and the chance to support one of the Isle of Man’s most vital charities.
