Cains is proud to announce that Richard Kniveton, Senior Associate, was formally called to the Manx Bar on 11 November 2025, marking a significant milestone in his legal career and further enhancing the firm’s depth of expertise across its Corporate and Commercial and Banking and Finance teams. This follows Richard’s success in the Manx Bar Exams earlier this year when he was awarded the prestigious 2025 Presidents Award for the joint highest mark.

Richard joined Cains in September 2024 following more than a decade at a global onshore law firm. Since relocating to the Isle of Man, Richard has advised on a wide range of domestic and cross-border corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and complex corporate restructurings. His regulatory experience includes advising clients on financial services legislation and anti-money laundering compliance.

Now officially sworn in as a Manx Advocate, Richard will continue to play a key role in supporting Cains’ clients with high-value transactions and regulatory matters.

Tristan Head, Group Chair at Cains, commented: “We are delighted to congratulate Richard on his call to the Manx Bar. His wealth of experience and commitment to excellence have already made a significant impact since joining the firm. Richard’s admission as an Advocate is a testament to his dedication and talent, and we look forward to seeing him continue to thrive as part of our team.”

Richard added: “It’s an honour to be called to the Manx Bar and to continue my career with Cains. I’m grateful for the support of my colleagues and excited to contribute further to the firm’s outstanding reputation in the Isle of Man and beyond.”
