The Opportunity
Cains is an internationally renowned independent offshore law firm, helping to maintain the Isle of Man’s position as a premier international finance centre. We are looking for qualified lawyers to join our busy commercial litigation team.
We welcome applications from junior and senior advocates. We will also consider lawyers qualified in other Commonwealth jurisdictions who are interested in relocating to the Isle of Man and requalifying locally.
The work
You will work on a broad range of dispute-related matters, including:
| ● Complex commercial cases | ● Shareholder and directors’ duties disputes |
| ● Trust disputes, civil fraud and asset tracing | ● Insolvency and liquidations |
| ● Banking disputes | ● Financial services and regulatory matters |
What you will do
- Provide accurate, comprehensive technical and strategic legal advice to clients.
- Manage your own files and caseload, with responsibility appropriate to your level of experience.
- Support senior advocates and help progress their caseloads.
- Undertake legal research and prepare clear briefing notes.
- Attend client meetings and calls, and prepare and circulate notes.
- Draft court papers and applications.
- Assist with disclosure and document-management projects.
